That's why she started Almost Becoming, a project built to back creative discovery and the people actively pushing culture forward.

Wait... she's a video editor?

Yes.

And just to be clear, I didn't come up through journalism or a writing degree.

I've always been drawn to print and independent media in a way I can't really shake. As a teenager, running into Interview, Apartamento, and the Japanese magazine Provoke rewired what "editorial" even meant to me. Those magazines weren't only recording culture as it happened. With photography, design, and careful curation, they built rich, enduring bodies of work—the kind that become personal reference shelves you return to for years.

Almost Becoming grew from that realization.

I wanted to make the publication I kept wishing I could find, one where filmmakers stumble into sculptors, musicians sit down with photographers, designers get to write about architecture, and curiosity outranks discipline, job titles, or notoriety.

Everyone we feature points to another person whose work deserves more eyes, so the project keeps branching outward, a growing chain of discovery. Those exchanges then move into The Field, our forthcoming living archive, which follows along with an artist's career instead of stopping the moment an interview goes live.

The hope is that The Field becomes bigger than an editorial repository. We want it to be the place where curators spot their next show, filmmakers meet future collaborators, brands commission artists, audiences buy a ticket to someone's first headline set, and readers come back not only to take in culture, but to have a hand in it.

Because nobody becomes who they're meant to be by themselves.
